Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the Synpath website at synpath.dev, our hosted APIs at api.synpath.dev and api2.synpath.dev, or a Synpath API key, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the services.
2. Description of Services
Synpath provides a unified API for prediction markets: an open-source library and a server you run yourself for market data and trading across venues, and hosted APIs for cross-venue matching and historical order books and trades. Trading runs on your own machine; orders go from there directly to the venues.
3. API Keys
Our hosted APIs require a Synpath API key. Give accurate information when you request one, keep your key confidential, and do not share it. You are responsible for all use of your key. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the services for anything unlawful, or in breach of the terms of any venue you trade on
- Try to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data
- Interfere with or disrupt the services, or place an unreasonable load on them
- Get around usage limits, for example by using several keys
- Resell or redistribute our hosted data or API access without our written permission
- Misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with Synpath
5. API Usage and Rate Limits
Hosted API usage is subject to rate limits and quotas, which may change. We may throttle or suspend a key whose use harms the service or other users.
6. Trading and Venue Accounts
Synpath is software, not a broker or exchange. We do not hold your funds or positions, and we do not execute orders on your behalf. Your accounts, credentials, eligibility and compliance at each venue are your responsibility, and your trading there is governed by that venue's own terms. You are solely responsible for the orders you place and for their outcome, including orders placed by automated strategies or by software you run.
7. Intellectual Property
The synpath library is open source under the MIT license, which governs your use of that code. The Synpath name, logo, website content and hosted services belong to Synpath, and these terms grant no rights to them beyond using the services as described here.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT MARKET DATA, MATCHES OR HISTORICAL DATA ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT.
Nothing Synpath provides is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to trade. Prices, volume and liquidity are each venue's own figures.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SYNPATH WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, FUNDS, DATA OR TRADING OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, INCLUDING LOSSES FROM ORDERS PLACED, DELAYED OR NOT PLACED.
10. Termination
We may suspend or end your access to the hosted services, or revoke your API key, at any time, including for a breach of these terms. You may stop using the services at any time. Your right to use the open-source library under its license is not affected.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top when we do, and continued use of the services after a change means you accept the new terms. See also our Privacy Policy.
